Dr.Tyrell has been studying Martial Arts since 1956. He has competed in many tournaments in Judo.
Among his tournament successes are placing three times in National Competitions and second in State Games (Illinois).
He has attended many clinics in his time and studied under several Olympic and International Champions.
His teaching experiences in Judo and Jujitsu include Oakton Community College,Northern Illinois University,
Harper College, Wright Junior College,Private Dojos.
He is currently teaching Judo and Jujitsu classes at the University of Tennessee as well as the University
Martial Arts Club which he founded in 1991.
